Mailsmith 2.1.4 Release Notes
This page documents all feature enhancements and bug fixes included in the Mailsmith 2.1.4 release. For information on changes made in previous versions, please see the release notes archive.
Additions
The following features and enhancements are new for Mailsmith 2.1.4:
- Added a new cookie for attribution strings: #localdate#, which generates a short-format date string from the Date header of the attributed message, after first normalizing the date/time to your local time zone.
Changes
- When storing password entries in the system keychain, Mailsmith now stores the POP or SMTP port number as well.
- There’s no particular reason that we need to suppress the Script menu when the application is started with the Shift key down, so we don’t.
Fixes
The following problems have been corrected in Mailsmith 2.1.4:
- Fixed crash which would occur when asking Mailsmith for its scripting dictionary after it had been started with the Shift key held down (which disables plug-ins).
- Fixed bug in which the manual spam-handling prefs didn’t reflect the actual behavior until after a change was saved in the Spam Handling preferences, and in which the default behavior caused no effect when marking messages as spam manually.
- Fixed bug in which the “Show Count in Global Count” check box was not disabled for the spam box in the Get Info window.
- If the AppleSingle (resource fork and metadata) portion of an AppleDouble enclosure could not be extracted (usually because of a malformation by the sending client, such as Lotus Notes), Mailsmith will report the condition and extract the rest of the attachment anyway, rather than bailing on the whole process.
- Fixed crash which would occur when quitting Mailsmith while Script Debugger’s explorer was inspecting the Signatures window.
- Fixed bug which would cause Mailsmith to hang if a script run from the Scripts menu, notification option or menu script performed a “refilter” action which in turn triggered a Run Script filter action.
- Fixed bug in which the displayed count of unread messages in the mailbox list window or mail browser mailbox list would decrement whenever a mailbox was created or imported.
- Corrected summary display when there were zero or one messages in the mail store.
- Fixed bug in which URLs sent to Mailsmith for resolution were decoded before being parsed, which gave rise to occasionally strange behavior if the URL contained encoded values of ”?” and “&”.
- Fixed bug in which Mailsmith would stop sending outgoing mail at the first error, even if other messages were queued. Now, Mailsmith will attempt to send the rest of the messages, unless the operation is explicitly cancelled by the user.
- Made a change to improve performance when using the “Mark as Spam” and “Mark as Non-Spam” with SpamSieve enabled.
